Job Description: This position reports to the Transitional Living Program Supervisor. Through use of the Teaching-Family Model, the Family Teacher applies his or her knowledge, training and experience to recommend and execute individualized treatment for each youth and a therapeutic daily schedule that meets the needs of all residents. This includes ensuring compliance with organization policy and procedures. This full-time, salaried (exempt) position requires flexibility but typically requires working an “eight days on, six days off” (Monday to Monday) schedule. During the eight work days staff sleeps at the community-based transitional living home as needed.

Perform duties associated with admission a- nd retention of new and existing consumers to our STATESVILLE Intensive In-Home Program. Provide clinical expertise and oversight for the Intensive In-Home Team. Coordinates with Community Based Services Director.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical:
Coordinate delivery of time-limited individual and intensive family treatment services intended to stabilize the home environment, promote reunification, or prevent the utilization of out-of-home placement (i.e., psychiatric hospital, therapeutic foster care, residential treatment facility) for the identified youth within designated time frames.
Completes required documentation to enroll and retain consumers in Intensive In-Home Services provided by CHA, including but not limited to gathering previous treatment histories, development of initial/complete Person-Centered Plan, completion of all paperwork associated with maintaining authorization, and making necessary referrals. Makes appropriate referrals for clients who are referred and do not meet criteria to receive services provided by CHA.
Job Summary: Family Teachers can help youth learn to function in a home-like setting. By example and teaching primarily using the Teaching Family Model (TFM) modality; Family Teachers can offer; healthy values, a safe and secure structured environment, and opportunities for relationship building. Family Teachers will work as a full member of a treatment team for home of residents. Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Basic Responsibilities
Provide clear consistent home rules and daily routines for residents through the use of the TFM system.
Implement the TFM to fidelity through the use of complete teachings with an understanding of the theories that underlie TFM Core training, including: learning theory, motivation systems, and skills curriculum.
Participate in monthly TFM consultations to identify strengths and areas for growth in using the model.
Participate in yearly evaluations for certification as a Family Teacher.
Supervise student daily tasks/ activities; chores, laundry, homework, meal times, chapel, recreation, athletic games, etc.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage in planning, developing, implementing and coordinating training curricula for staff members in the BGHNC services and programs.
Take the lead role in Pre-service Training for all program employees – Teaching Family Model of Care and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
As a system administrator for RELIAS (Learning Management System), assign, monitor, upload/update trainings provided, and report compliance for training plan expectations.
Properly track trainings for all staff.
Create quarterly and annual training reports for the Senior Director of Human Resources and personnel files when necessary.
Recommend annual training plans for all departments across the organization, incorporating compliance requirements.
Identify and schedule training facilitators when necessary.

The Manager is accountable for implementing integrated systems in programs to ensure best practice and continuous quality improvement. Will maintain credentials in TCI, CPR, and Prudent Parenting.
