Director of Foster Care & Adoptions - Methodist Home for Children, Raleigh, NC

Salary Range: $72,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

With over 30 hours of training and unwavering support, we ensure our foster parents are fully prepared to open their hearts and homes.

Position: Director of Foster Care & Adoptions

As the Director of Foster Care & Adoptions, you will be at the forefront of transforming the lives of children and families. You’ll lead, inspire, and supervise the agency-wide Foster Care, Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC), and Adoptions programs, working with a passionate team to ensure exceptional care and services. Your leadership will help guide the future of countless children and families, making a lasting impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Oversee: You’ll direct the day-to-day operations, program development, and fiscal management for the Foster Care, TFC, and Adoptions programs, ensuring excellence across the board.

  • Supervise and Support: Oversee Foster Care Supervisors, Adoptions, and Licensing Supervisors, providing guidance, consultation, and 24/7 on-call support.

  • Quality Care: Develop and monitor treatment plans to ensure that foster and adoptive placements provide the highest quality care.

  • Recruit and Train: Spearhead efforts to recruit, train, and license new foster and adoptive parents, ensuring they’re equipped to meet the needs of the children.

  • Collaborate: Serve as the liaison with DSS, DMH, and community agencies to support the children and families in our care.

  • Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure that all foster care services meet state licensing laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Emergency Assistance: Provide backup consultation and emergency assistance as needed for foster and therapeutic foster homes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience working with children and families in a human services setting.

  • Strong experience in Foster Care Services—required.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as 24/7 on-call duties.

  • Exceptional communication, writing, organizational, and computer literacy skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage program documentation accurately.
